New Multitasking APPLE iPhone OS4 unveiled details of its next-generation iPhone operating system Today in a press event at the company’s headquarters.

The new operating system, New Multitasking APPLE iPhone OS4 will be released to developers this week and to consumers this summer. It will include support for multitasking, in-app advertising, e-book reading, social gaming, and other features.

As expected, the highlight of the new OS will be its support for multitasking of apps.


New Multitasking APPLE iPhone OS4 will deliver over 1500 new APIs for developers:.

Devs can now access calendar, photo library, still and video camera data, quick look, SMS inside their apps. Automated testing tools used internally now available for apps. “Accelerate” API, lets devs get at heavy math processing within their apps.
