It’s already becoming very apparent that the Houston Astros are going to need good starting pitching to be competitive. That’s exactly what Wandy Rodriguez has provided against the Chicago Cubs.
Rodriguez has lost his first two starts after a breakout 2009, but he’ll look to continue his recent string of stellar outings against the Cubs and help the Astros capture their first series Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
“It’s easy when your team goes out there and scores that many runs,” Dempster told the Cubs’ official website. “I made it a little bit harder than it had to be. It was moreso fastball command. I wasn’t able to get ahead of too many guys.”
Dempster is 1-3 with a 3.48 ERA in seven starts against Houston over the past two seasons.
