Apple has sold 1.7 million iPhone 4 Saturday, recording its most successful launch.

He reports the same company in Cupertino.

Sales of its touchscreen smartphone, which competes with devices from Nokia, Research In Motion and Motorola, have exceeded expectations of analysts and the same computer company that is having trouble meeting demand.

In a statement, CEO Steve Jobs apologized to "consumers forced to give up" because the company did not have enough stocks of the iPhone 4.

The analyst Daniel erst said that the phone has exceeded its estimates, selling 1.7 million units, a figure that includes orders, started last June 15.

"No model of smartphones has never recorded this happened," he said.

Other analysts argue that by December 4 iPhones sold should be 12.2 million.
