Drag Racer Neal Parker Died at NHRA Qualifying Round

Neal Parker Died at NHRA Qualifying Round : Tragic accident on Friday at Raceway Park in Old Bridge New Jersey, 58-year-old Drag Racer Neal Parker crashed his car durinbg the NHRA event. In the accident. Neal Parker was severely injuried in the accident and was enounceddead at the scene. This is the second NHRA death in two years.

Neal Parker was part of the Top Alcohol Funny Car, finishing the qualifying round for the National Hot Rod Association SuperNationals.

“On behalf of everyone at NHRA and Raceway Park, we are deeply saddened and want to pass along our sincere condolences to the entire Parker family,” said the NHRA in a statement.

Parker often drove in NHRA events on the East Coast, but was not among the organization's top-ranked drivers nationally, NHRA spokesman Anthony Vestal said.

NHRA officials and New Jersey state police are investigating. It was over three hours before the track was reopened and an investigation in to the crash is set to take place.
