Roger Federer vs Lleyton Hewitt : Sensation At Gerry Weber Open

Sensational win for Lleyton Hewitt in the Gerry Weber Open 2010. Lleyton Hewitt is playing first time at the GERRY WEBER OPEN ended with his first title in Halle. He defeated the big favorite Roger Federer 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. It was Federer’s first defeat in Halle after 29 consecutive wins.

Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt met 24 times before the final of Halle, Federer won 14 consecutive matches against Hewitt but the first time he lost in the final against Australian star.

“He played fantastic and deserved to win,” admitted the five-times GWO champion Federer.

Hewitt said, “Roger is one of those players who you can hardly beat in the final, like Peter Sampras or Andre Agassi in the past. That makes the win even more beautiful.”
