World Cup host South Africa vs Guatemala Preview

2010 FIFA World Cup host South Africa meets Guatemala in an international friendly match on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane, South Africa and match starts at 19:30.

South Africa playing warm-up match today against Guatemala before playing 2010 FIFA World Cup. After this match South Africa willplay one more Warm-up match against Denmark on June 5, 2010. And will play against Zambia in African Nations Championship before world cup. South Africa will play their first match against Mexico on June 11, 2010 in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In the last friendly match against Colombia South Africa won with 2-1.

South African midfielder Mokoena said, “They have come here to test us. We cannot underestimate them as we have only 11 days left and only one more friendly (against Denmark) to tune up for the World Cup”. “We cannot afford to waste these vital warm-up matches and believe me, we are taking Guatemala as serious as we would the other countries we played last week such as Bulgaria and Colombia.”

Guatemala has not qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and played only once this year. They played against El Salvador in thi year and won the match with 2-1. Guatemala is hoping to win the today’s match. Guatemala wants to beat South Africa and prove their strength.
